Future Olympian Diver

Earlier this week I did a 2nd birthday photography session with this cutie!

Jackson celebrated her 2nd birthday with her today. He had a great time and was NOT happy when it was time to go home.

He enjoyed sliding down the slide, running to the pool and diving in. I think he scared everyone out of the pool.

The sign of a successful party? Child crashing in the car.

I Heart Rob

Four years ago today, I married my best friend.

We work together. We play together. We've traveled the world together from exploring Europe to surviving India to relaxing in the Maldives. Now we're raising a family together. I couldn't be happier - as long as we're together.

Our family

We're so fortunate to have found each other and to have such a wonderful life together. Thank you to all of our friends and family that supported us four years ago and support us today! We love you all!

Love, Noelle

Jackson's Morning of Terror at the Fire Station

Jackson loves firetrucks! We read books about firetrucks. He points them out on the street. He talks about lights and sirens. He loves them so much, I decided to take a half day at work so I could take him to a fire station tour with our summer playgroup. When I told him about it, he couldn't stop talking about it. His conversations revolved around fire station, firetruck, siren, lights, etc. After our little outing today, I learned that he likes pictures of firetrucks and real ones when they are not near him. He's always hated loud sirens and the fact that it's coming from a firetruck doesn't change that. Yes, I have to admit, firemen can look scary (see first photo below), but Jackson was beyond freaked out by them and the trucks. I don't know if I have ever seen him so freaked out.
He spent almost the entire visit looking like this... (or with his face buried on my shoulder or leg).
Instead of a pole, they had a slide. Kind of neat. But, the fireman said they don't use it. That's disappointing.
This is the one thing I convinced Jackson to do. It was away from the firetrucks and involved water.

Here are the other kiddos having fun and posing for a picture with the firetruck. After this, we left because when I looked up from taking this picture, he was halfway to the car.
I had to go back to work, but on the way we made a quick stop for lunch. By this point, he was mostly recovered from the scary visit where the "sirens make Jackson sad." Then...
...this was parked in front of our car. Poor kid didn't want to go near our car because of the truck.
So, what was supposed to be a fun morning for us, turned into a morning of terror. But, it was quickly forgotten and the day was much more fun for him from there on out. I'm okay with him not wanting to be a fireman.

Jackson Copies Mommy

Mommy nurses on the edge of the sofa (where Jackson is sitting). Since in the end, I nurse Ben several hours a day total, I set up the laptop next to me so when boredom strikes, entertainment is at my fingertips. Jackson has a learning computer that does stuff with letters and spelling and counting. Today he decided he wanted to be on his computer in Mommy's spot.

What Goes On At That Daycare of Jackson's?

Jackson's friend from class had her 2nd birthday this past weekend. Since they both bring their own lunch to school (his school's lunch menu is horrible) they usually sit together during lunch. What transpired during lunch, has me wondering, what exactly goes on at that school of his. His friend was very sweet and shared her food with and fed him. At least I know, if they share food at school, her Mommy always sends good lunches! They are too cute!

This is the point where he decides he is full.
But, she's determined...one more bite!
What a birthday cutie!
This picture entertains me for various reasons. First, he's in his diaper because we learned that swim diapers don't absorb urine! I know they are built to not absorb pool water and get heavy, but I thought they would absorb enough to handle some urine. But, no. I feel better knowing that many people have been through the same thing. It's fun cleaning urine up off the floor in front of a lot of people you don't know... The other thing that entertains me is that the couch area is apparently the "cell phone zone." You may need to click on the picture to see it, but I think all of the people on the couches are looking at their phones. Not that I can throw stones on that one...
Daddy and Ben
All in all Jackson had a blast, especially when the slide was placed at the edge of the pool and he got to slide into the water. There aren't any pictures of the pool part because when you have two kids and you're around water, pictures just don't seem to happen...
