"Going bowls"

We took Jackson bowling today. Times Square has an awful website, but awesome deals. On Monday they have $1.50 games, shoes, drinks and food. On Tuesday it's $2.00 specials. Jackson LOVED it! During our bedtime routine, I always ask Jackson his favorite thing from the day. Tonight he got a huge smile on his face and said, "Going bowls!"

Playdate at Marini's Empanada House

For some reason, I always thought I didn't like Empanadas. I think it's because when I've had them, I didn't get to pick what was in them and it usually involved something I didn't like. Well, after today's playdate,  I realized I have horribly misjudged empanadas. Because of my oral surgery, I wasn't able to try them out today, but after seeing that it's just deep fried goodness, I will return to Marini's Empanada House.

The kids got to make two each - a savory one and a sweet one.

Jackson chose apples for his sweet one.

Here he is mashing the edges down for his fork.

And for his savory one, he chose a cheese, ham, marinara mix.

Finishing touches...

Although he doesn't look thrilled in this picture, he loved them! Of course, he never gets deep fried dough, so figured he better eat them as quickly as possible before we changed our mind and took them back.

Benjamin - 4 Month Well Check

Ben had his 4 mo well check today. Jackson thought Ben sounded great!

Benjamin is a little string beany. He's in the 80th percentile for length (26 inches) and 53rd percentile for weight (15 lbs 7 oz).

The doctor thought everything looked great!

I posted these on Facebook, but haven't gotten around to posting them on our family blog. Jackson LOVES his cars. Here are some pics of him playing one morning while Rob was out of town.

Pizza Pizza

Rob suggested that we have our first pizza and movie night tonight. I have been wanting to make pizzas with Jackson, so we decided we'd go for it. Candelari's has a $6 make your own pizza kit. You get to pick two toppings for it as well. Since we got two kits, we got sausage, pepperoni, veggie mix, and mushrooms and then added other ingredients from home (like peppers that Uncle Stephen grew). Here are some pics from the pizza making process. I'm embarrassed to admit which pizza belongs to my 2 year old son and which belongs to me. Jackson had fun and the pizza was good!

Benjamin - 4 mo

Ben,  You're wonderful. You smile, and smile, and smile, and smile. You even smile with your eyes. You coo. You laugh. You roll over both ways. You can roll across and off the big beautiful blanket your Aunt Melissa made for you. What a great age 4 months is! Knock on wood, you haven't been sick for the past two months.

You can sit in your Bumbo. You uare chewing on things like crazy (not.ready.to.nurse.with.teeth). You swat, you grab (see card pic below), and you like toys now.

You don't have your 4 mo exam until the July 11th, but you weighs 15.5 lbs according to the baby scale at home. You're long, but we're not sure how long. We think 25.5 inches, but we measured you while you were nursing so I'm sure it's highly accurate. That makes you about the same length that J was and about 2 lbs lighter.

You were sleeping from 7pmish til 5:30. Now you're waking at 12 or 3:30 and sometimes both. We'd prefer you return to your previous schedule. But, we love ya nonetheless. Oh yes, and your brother loves you, too.

Just for fun...
